I currently run a super reverb SRRI with four Weber DT-10s, with amp volume about 7.5 and attenuated (Weber Mass 100) a bit to keep stage volume friendly.  How would the Veteran 10s compare to them?  Which would break up earlier. I prefer the early breakup. And would they make a good matchup in pairs (2 vet 10s and 2 DT-10s)?  What pattern would be best for a blend of tonal differences (2 top - 2 bottom, x-pattern, etc)?  Thanks!

Bummed no one chimed in on this so I'll bump it. I would like to know this too. How do you like the DT's btw?

The DT-10 speakers are nice - really nice! In a Super Reverb, there's nothing harsh with the highs at all, warm and clear without the ice pick. Mids are sweet and thick when driven, and the bass is right there without being overly boomy or flubby. Overall, well balanced, "broken-in" sounding, and can still cut through the mix of a loud band. They're a relatively low efficiency speaker @ +-93 db, so they break up earlier than the stock speakers, but still plenty of volume and clarity coming from a super, depending on guitar volume. Not sure what they sound like with single coils, but with HBs it's a great matchup. I've also used the 4x10 cab of the super (rewired for 8 ohms) with a Fender Super Champ XD as the head, and the "Bassman, Blackface, Marshall, and Hot Rod" voices all sound great through the DT-10s.
