I would like to know which speaker do you recommend to a Mark V Combo (open back). I have a Retro 30 in a 1x12 and I love it, but I think it will be better to consider of a more powerfull speaker, since the amp has 90 watts and the Retro 30 75w.

The amp will be used mostly at home for classic rock and metal stuff (70´s, 80,s and early 90´s)!

I saw the WGS12L, but I think it will be too much for my needs, since I mostly use the amp at moderate volumes at home and I think It might be too big for my combo because of the location of the reverb tank. So what do you think: Blackhawk HP or ET-90 will suit my needs? Other?

I know the Retro 30 will handle just well in moderate volumes, but once in a while the amp could be crancked and then I will have trouble, right?

Thanks!

You are talking about a Mesa-Boogie, right?

If so ... yes, I think ET90 should be an EXCELLENT choice.  I had a MK V head (simul-class with 2 EL34s & 2 6L6s, with verb & graphic) ... and I always struggled with it sounding too clinical ... not as organic as an old pre-CBS Fender guy like me is used to ... and either the Blackhawk or the ET90 should deliver the organic goodness in spades.

Thanks, a lot, Vaughn!
