Hello Vaught!

I´m from Chile.

Im make a 2x12 cabinet for my 22 watts tube amp handmade (fenderish).

I have a veteran 30 speaker and other guy offer me the chance of purchase a Reaper HP.

What do you thing about this combination?

Or is better 2x12 with only 2 veteran 30? or with a green beret? or a retro 30?

Thanks and regards!

Note: the et-65 is not available, is not a option.

I like the Reaper/Vet 30 combination a lot.  That is basically the WGS version of a Celestion G12H30/Vintage 30 combination ... which is a favorite recommendation from Avatar.  If you go this route, you will have a very well-balanced and warm sounding cabinet ... very similar to the ET-65/Vet 30 combination!

So, I say go for it :-)

Hey there, so i have a similar situation.

I have an orange 4x12 that is full of WGS Reapers currently. I want to mix speakers and get some more mids/ another voice in the mix.  I am not 100% sure but it just needs a little something more.

I was thinking about a pair veteran 30's since Orange cabs stock with V30's but then noticed that your site says the Retro 30 will pair well w/ Reapers.  So I am trying to decide between the two. I was also just curious is a pair or Reaper HP's or ET65's would be good to mix with the Reapers as well.

I also had questions about two more questions-

1 What are the pros and cons of putting the two pairs as an x pattern vs. top and bottom?

2 How do you tell if two speaker pairs are able to be mixed and one won't override the other in volume or frequency?

No, the ET65's or HP's would not give you the extra midrange you want.  I'd go Green Beret or Vet 30's.  The Ret 30 would add more top bite, as opposed to mid snarl.

The x-vs-over/under thing has been discussed a bunch here ... use the search bar on the upper left :-)

As far as arriving at a good pairing ... you can either go with what is already known to work, or strike out on your own...
