Vaughn,

I read back in 2013 that you had a first gen Peavey Bandit, presumeably with a Scorpion speaker in it, and were working out which WGS unit would eventually makes it's home there.

What have you tried?  How did they sound?  What won out and why?

There are so many of those old 80s Peaveys out there with that Scorpion that I think your learnings would be quite valuable to a great many players out there.  *myself included ;)

I'm thinking about a G12C/S as possibly being a similarly-flavored speaker but making up for the Scorpion's shortcomings.

Thanks!

Yea ... and actually a very good gigging amp!  The cleans are quite nice ... but ya gotta get your dirt from a good pedal or two!

Yes it had a Scorpion in it which didn't sound bad ... but was a bit "sterile" as was so common in early high-wattage guitar speakers.  The winner was an ET65 by a big margin; it helped bring some organic warmth and more tube-like tone to the amp and really made clean tones quite respectable indeed!
