I'm looking to knock down the volume on my original 65 Super Reverb and am worried about stressing the transformers or I would simply disconnect 2 speakers.   Instead I'd like to install two 4 ohm Vet 10s in parallel to match the 2 ohm impedance of the amp.  I understand the Super is 45 watts and the Vets are only 20 watts each, but I never turn the amp on the way up anyway.  I go to about 4 or 5 and might use a dirt pedal.  Anyway, just wondering if they could handle it if I DO ever crank it to max volume?  is the power rating on WGS speakers pretty conservative, like Celestions are?

You should be fine ... yes, WGS rates conservatively ... and a '65 SR is really a 40-watt amp anyway ... could be considered as much as 50 or as little as 30 depending on bias & tube voltage ... but generally in the blackface era any 2 6L6 amp is about 40-watts max.
