Hi Folks,
I own a pair of G12C speakers, which I do like very much. I really love them in single 112 applications. Everything seems to sit right there in the right place - especially when using a little oversized cab.
But in my opinion the G12C doesn´t get along with other speakers well. I tried them as a pair, I tried one with an ET65... and so on. The only speakers that really blended nicely were the honorable G10C (awesome mix) and, if you want less SPL, a cheaper Jensen CH 10/50. So in my opinion the G12C only gets along with 10" drivers.
For some of my tones (not all) I also find the G12C a bit too round in the bassarea and a bit too bright. Not too much. I´d like to hear some more midrange sweetness, which would be there, if the midrange "peak" or RF might be a tiny bit lower.
So, after watching this revealing video on YT, I thought doping might help (though this meant losing some of the great dynamic an touch sensitivity, the G12 offers):

I already read Vaughn´s Musical Notation on this topic ( https://wgs4.com/dope-speaker-dope ) and searched in this Forum, where I found the appetizingly, but little simplifying comment "sounds great" on a slighlty doped G12C ( https://wgs4.com/g12c-scooped-tone ).
I´d love to get some more in-depth information before I dare to get one of my favorite speakers doped.
Anybody out there with some more detailed information? Vaughn? dansekerak?
best regards
Heiko
