Hey there!



  I have a Marshall JCM800 2204 that I'm running through a 412 with Celestion G12T75 speakers that I despise.  They're nasally, shrill and unpleasant to my ears.

 

I play in a pop-punk band (think early Sum 41) and I'm looking for some speaker suggestions for that kind of sound.  I've heard that the Celestion G1265 (which is too expensive for me so I'd rather go with the WGS ET65) is often recommended for this amp.  Just wondering if that would work well for a punk sound.

Yes ... the ET65 is certainly the cure for that!  Also, the Green Beret if you also want a little cone compression ... and the ET90 if you want max overall headroom and volume.
