Hi,

I want to upgrade a Laney Cub 12, which has a 15W output stage. Do I want a Reaper or a Reaper HP? (I ruled out the 55Hz version from the direct comparison video by vskow. I liked the Reaper tone better.)

How would it sound differently?

Thanks for the help!

Btw: I'm pretty sure, all the Sd in T/S params on your site a wrong by a factor of 10 ...

I would suggest the standard Reaper with that amp ... the HP will probably be too dark.

I got the speaker today. Wow, is that magnet strong! Makes it kind of tricky installing it ... ;-)

Compared to before, the sound is very defined and even a bit "in your face". I feel like I can hear every(!) string in a chord and I can hear the metal of the strings more. This is extreme! Very "hi-fi"! Kind of reminds me of the time when I went from a micro music system to full grown standing speakers with a dedicated power amplifier.

It is louder as was expected. It has more low end. High end also, but it took away some of the "screetchiness" there was before in higher notes. That is really good, because I was afraid a better speaker might bring out some deficiencies in the amplifier itself, which were masked before. Not the case! I'm happy! :-)

One questions though: I build it into a combo and that heavy magnet is now only 3cm away from the tubes. Could this potentially be a problem?

Last but not least: what is the song played in the clean sample of the Reaper product page?? Thanks!
