The amp in question is @10 watt Class A amp.  An Emery Superbaby.  A recent output trans replacement/upgrade made teh amp brighter than it had been before the repair.  Most often  the amp is powered with a KT66, 5AR4 and a 12AX7.   The cab is an oversize 1x12 with an oval opening in back.  My most often used speaker is a G123H30.  I've come to realize that the top end of the G12H30 is too bright for me.  Too hard.  The amp has no tone stack.  I use an MXR 10 band to dial out the top end.  Most often a Tele and a P90 LP are used.

I recently played the amp into a 1936 Marshall cab with two G12-75s.   Apples and oranges  I know but I really liked it.   So suggest a speaker that may give me the G12 kinda vibe but with ew mellower top end.

Thanks

Neil

First ... a G12H30 is certainly not an overly bright speaker ... so your amp must be very bright!

And so ... my first choice would be to turn to the super-warm, smooth as velvet ET65 ... or if you want to tame the top even a bit more, the uber-warm & smokey G12C/S (smooth-cone).
