Hey yall! I'll be ordering a speaker soon, and would like some input on which one to get? Now, I use an Ibanez S520EX ran through a Peavey Ultra 112 combo. Lord willing, I'll be making it into a head soon, with an oversized closed vertical slant 212 cab to follow.

So thinking ahead to that point, I'd like to know if the G12C/S would be able to nail a nice warm clean while still being.able to cut and punch through the mix on heavy hard rock songs(think Shinedown).

In all, I'm looking for an unashamedly American tone which is why I thought about the G12C/S. That said, I know anything'll be an improvement over the 15-yr old already-not-so-great Sheffield.

Hummm .... the g12-smooth is an "unashamedly American tone" ... but it's the tone of early tweed Fender ... very smooth, warm, woody ... which goes against your other desire of "being.able to cut and punch through the mix on heavy hard rock songs".

For you, I recommend the "WGS Original" ET-90 ... you will be pleased :-)

Cool, thanks! Looking at the specs on that one, I'd imagine it'll be perfect for what I'm lookng for.
