Hello, I have a Port City OS 2x12 currently loaded with a Retro 30 and a HM75. The HM75 side sounds a little harsh for my taste so I was thinking about replacing that one. Which combination would you recommend?

Retro 30 with a Veteran 30 or the Retro 30 with the ET65 (which seems to liked a lot on this forum)?

I am also not opposed to using matching speakers if you suggest something else.

I am using a Mesa Mark V 90w Head, but like to borrow my friends AxeFxII/Port City Pearl head when he is out of town sometimes. I like a tight bottom and balanced clear and not harsh tone ala Periphery, some Dream Theater albums, Metallica, the John Browne Mesa demos, but love to play crisp and fat cleans too. I play on a 6 string Tele with humbuckers. I like a lot of different styles so versatility would be great.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ryan

Yea ... I wish they would have retired the HM 75 and not the Liberator ... anyway ...
The key is "I like a tight bottom and balanced clear and not harsh tone"
To me that says that the second speaker should be an ET65!
