Recently ordered a Tweedle Dee amp head and I'm looking for suggestions on a 12 inch speaker to go into a separate cab (Mojotone Beefy open back?). Although it is based off of a 5E3 circuit Ceriatone says it has more headroom, more distortion and holds together better without the flatulence of a typical Tweed Deluxe. Any suggestions on speakers & extension cabs would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Jim

Hi again!
Still hoping for some info in regards to speaker suggestions. I have looked at past threads about the regular tweed deluxe combos, wasn't sure if they would apply to this amp head. I'm also not sure about the difference between an open back vs closed back extension cabinet when it comes to speaker choice. I'm wanting to keep this head & cab as light/compact as possible for easy transporting. I'm planning on leaving my Maz 18 combo here at home and taking the Tweedle Dee with when we head south for the winter.
Thanks, Jim
" the flatulence of a typical Tweed Deluxe" ... I hear that! I've owned an actual '59 Deluxe, and a VERY high quality clone clone (Clark Beaufort) ... and they sure fart out in a heckuva hurry!
As you've probably read ... I'm all about the Blackhawk in these amps ... and in fact they are almost all I use in my own similar amps (www.VaughnSkow.com) ... so the ONLY reason I'd think about anything else is if AlNiCo just is out of your budget, in which case I'd get the ET65. Since weight is a concern ... the ET90 ain't for you ... more weight with no real benifit in that amp :-)
ET65 it is! Now I'm just waiting for my cabinet from Mojotone. Of course, those poor folks in Burgaw are going to have a lot of catching up to do after having to deal with all the flooding from the hurricane. Amp head should be here in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to putting it all together to see how it sounds!
Thanks!
