Hi
As the title says I am looking for recommendations for a Vibrolux style clone.
Mark Knopfler use one on the Sultans of Swing album. The amp is only single channel, tremolo and reverb, 2x6l6 with a 1x12 speaker.
What I have found out is that the early 60's originals had Oxford's 12L6 or 12M6.
The amp will put out around 30 to 35 watts, when I get the output transformer.
From experience I prefer a warmer lower mid with smoother highs I tend to play at the edge of breakup using the guitars volume and a boost pedal when needed.
I am also not looking to get the classic fender blackface clean sounds - looking to cover classic blues/rock - early ZZtop sounds. I havn't really looked at the American vintage speakers as I have tended to use Marshall style amps in the past.
Any suggestions would be grateful.
Kevin
