Anyone tried fitting a G10C into a Fender Pro Jr. It has the stock 10" Jensen Special Design. Not a whole lotta room left for something with a larger magnet structure, but there is some.
Just wanted to do a follow up on this in case anyone is interested. Called WGS and talked to a sales rep who told me the speaker would fit, and was familiar with the Pro Jr. At his suggestion I ordered the smooth cone version (G10C/S) for that amp to reduce the treble a bit. I got the amp used, so in addition to the speaker change I got all new JJ power and preamp tubes. This amp turned into a little monster!!! It really wasn't all that bad before, it just broke up too early and didn't have the clean headroom for a rock and roll gig. Now it is a very usable, great sounding amp, at moderate or slightly above, stage volume levels. Has a very full sound, not boxy or thin. Another thing I noticed, to get the maximum headroom from this amp, you need to replace the first preamp tube with something that has a lower gain than the stock 12AX7. This allows the G10C to really shine.
