I am looking to get a 2x12 and load it with 1 Retro 30 (75 watts) and 1 Reaper HP (50 watts)....which together add up to 125 watts. However, correct me if I'm wrong, but this speaker combination actually only gives 100 watts max as you go by the rating of the lower speaker and multiply it by two. (the reaper hp at 50 watts x 2 = 100 watts)

Though I'm not sure if this method of taking the lowest speaker rating is true or not. So, my question is, will those two speakers in a 2x12, run with a Laney AOR 100 watt head (mostly similar a Marshall jcm 800 circuit) be ok, and not get blown? I only plan on turning this amp up to 5 or less, as that is VERY loud already! Thanks!

When WGS rates a speaker @ 50-watts ... they mean 50 TRUE tube watts.

I'll take that as a "go-ahead/it's ok" then?
