I am looking to replace the speakers in my Marshall 1960BV cabinet. I am using a Les Paul Trad and an ES 339 both with Bare Knuckle pickups into a Soldano Decatone and ahve been using a combo of g12-65s and Marshall Vintage speakers for a while now, but want to use the celestions in other 212 combos. My first initial thought was to combine 2 ET65s with 2 Veteren 30s to get a similar voicing but am curious... What is the darkest speaker in the WGS line?
I have a 1960A that has 2 ET65s and 2 Invader 50's. I love the cab but it is a tad on the bright side, even tho the mid and low end is very well balanced. I plan to use the two as a full stack and thought I could get a fuller thicker tone out of the straight cab while still having the articulation and cut of the top slant cab.

Easy answer: the smooth-cone models ... G12C/S would be the 12" version.  ET-65 would come in second.
