I am planning to build a 1x12 open back cab. I will use the guitar cab with a powered Kemper (cab simulation off). Nominal D-power. 600W 8ohms. 300W 16ohms.

My priority with this speaker is playing the following profiles:
Fender Twin Reverb & Fender Deluxe Amps,
Dumble ODS,
Two Rock profiles like TR Classic Reverb,
Fuchs, Ceriatone.
Using cleans and drives.

What speaker(s) would you recommend?

Thanks,

Alex Tavera

Hey Alex ... that's a super easy one ... ET65. I've been recommending that speaker for modeling amps for about a decade now ... and there have been many reports back gushing with praise :-)
That speaker really helps the modeling amps take on the ... well, I always call it "organic goo" ... that a sweet tube amp always drips with. It makes for a 100% fulfilling playing experience in a live situation.

Makes sense, but for the amp output. I don't know any guitar speaker that can handle that much power.

Yea ... that's true ... if you are going to actually USE all the power, it would smoke the ET-65. A caveat: I'm not familiar with how Kemper rates it's class-D power ... most class-D ratings are terribly over-stated ... however, Pat Quilter's amps carry a true RMS power that equals their stated power, so it's not impossible that a good company will actually tell the TRUTH about a class-D power section :-)
