Hello Everyone,

I picked up a red stripe bandit a few months back and although the 1230 Sheffield speaker is highly regarded I don't think it sounds very good. I'm looking for something to smooth out the top end and provide me with maximum clarity (I'll only be using the amp for cleans at this time). I was thinking perhaps the ET90 or the HM75 might be a good option?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone :)

On Youtube there's one teal stripe Bandit w. the ET90 fitted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVfufwbadHw I'm affraid I'm not entirely read up on whether there are any spec differences between the two, but as you can tell it's quite headroomy and warm with an amp of this design.

Yea, I'm not up on the differences either ... but I did have an older Bandit 65 at one point ... and the ET65 was the speaker for that amp FOR SURE!!! It really smoothed out the top end , gave it more organic warmth and made it sound more like a vintage tube amp :-)
Others have also used ET65's in various Bandits with similar results.

The speaker came in yesterday. It added a ton of bottom, and really warmed it up. Like you said much more "tubey" now. I do think it breaks up a bit earlier than the stock speaker, but the tone is better for sure.
