Hello

I know the Veteran30 is a smoothest V30 with less of that mid spike.

And I know that the Retro is a brighter Veteran30.

But how does the Retro 30 compare to a V30. Which one is the brightest? Does the Retro fit between the Vet and the V30, or is it the V30 that sits between the Vet and the Retro?

Thanks
JT

Anyone?

Depends a bit on which V30 you're refering to, I suppose, and what kind of drive you'd run into them.

Then either of the WGS speakers seem to have less presence to them, which to my ears make the WGSs seem brighter and more forward, yet less bitey. WGS somehow know the trick of squeezing out highs that aren't harsh or bitey, but airy and light.

Not sure this answers your question, though.

Not sure I got you. Both Vet and Retro are brighter than a V30?

I thought it was the opposite.

I've always thought the Retro falls between the Veteran and the V30. Maybe a little closer to the V30 but somewhere between them.
Thanks,
Dean

Okay ...

Veteran 30 is a bit smoother on top with less ice-pick than a Celestion Vintage 30.
Retro 30 is also a bit smoother, but with more "sparkle" in the very-top-end, and a more solid bottom-end thud.
