Hey guys. I need some help/advice please...
I have a large semi open-back 2x12 (Avatar Traditional with the oval cut out) that I want to load with a pair of WGS speakers.
The 3 amps I want to use this cab with are:
- Marshall Silver Jubilee (100 watts)
- Budda SD18 (18 watts)
- Allen Brown Sugar (30-watts)
- Mesa MKIII (90 watts)
So as you can see, I require 100-watt power handling.
What WGS speakers do you think would work well for these amps?
I've been thinking a lot about a Reaper HP mixed with something else... Maybe a Retro or Vet? I want to make sure I get a good dose of upper-mids and not just have booming bass and tons of highs.
I already own the Reaper 55 (30 watt) and really like it... but, I'm not sure how similar the Reaper HP is to it.
Thanks in advance!
Wow ... great cabinet ... and awesome amps!
Okay ... so, yea, with that oval port, the cabinet does a great job of augmenting low-end ... so I get ya on "I want to make sure I get a good dose of upper-mids and not just have booming bass and tons of highs." Man ... I think what you need in that mix is a little thick, midrange heavy green-back tone ... and obviously a Green Beret won't handle the Marshall ... so ... I'd go with the Reaper HP paired with an INVADER. That sounds like just what you are looking for.
