I have a client who wants this thing to be a clean machine, love the chimey high-end sear he could get from this, but stock speakers are tired and the surrounds are on their way out.

I was thinking of using the ET65 to bring some (IMO) much needed warmth, but pair this with the Retro 30 to give a little tighter bass and still allow for some high-end sparkle to come through. My worry here is that he is going to be upset with it sounding TOO subdued, so I was hoping to avoid it with the Ret30. Another option would be a G12c/S instead of either one, more likely the ET65...

My apprehension is coming from the fact that most folks seem to be looking for acceptable and clear cleans, while desiring the right DRIVE tones from their WGS speakers...
