Have an empty Traynor Bass Speaker 8x10 cabinet that I want to load with guitar speakers. Originally loaded with 8 ohm Marslands wired series parallel to 4 ohms at input.

This is strictly for kicks in my studio, no gigging. Will be using Traynor heads, Fender Bassman head. Like bluesy, jazzy sound and a little overdrive.

I like what I've heard online from ET10 tentatively.

I wondering about mixing speakers or even converting to isolated 4x10 sections with different speakers in each section.

Love to hear some ideas.

Thanks

Hummm ... so many options here!  Good thing you don't want to drag that big girl to gigs!

1) Go all Vet 10's ... they sound GREAT in a 4x10 ... so they should sound even greater in a 8x10!

2) Go 4 Vet 10s and 4 ET10s ... that would actually be an EXCELLENT combination.

3) Go G10C's ... it would sound great ... fat and huge ... but man oh man would it be loud & heavy!

I'd say the Vet 10/ET10 option is best ... put the Vets over and the ETs under ... As for the convert to separate boxes ... I'd say try em together first and see if you reach nirvana, or want to push on further.

I'd like to revive this thread only because the Vet 10 is no longer an option.
So, what would be the best option to fill an 8x10 Marshall cabinet to be used with a Marshall JTM45 or 2203? 4 each ET10 and Retro10 in "X" pattern?

Thanks!!

Hey William, whatch talkin' out? The Vet 10 is still around, it's just moved into the "American" section, which is where it's really always belonged :)

Blush, they sure are, my bad.
What about the 7db difference in SPL, will the Vet10s get overwhelmed?
Thanks!!
