I am looking for a new speaker for a Gries 12 (Princeton Reverb clone). I bought it used with an Eminence RWB and I am disappointed with this speaker: sounds bland clean, harsh when overdriven w/ pedals. Immediately noted an improvement w/ plugging into a Greenback style speaker, but ultimately am looking for a classic Blackface scooped mids American clean for home use. I used to want this amp to be a pedal platform, but found something else for that. Does this send me to the G12C, or will I also find that "too harsh"? Sorry if this has been addressed before, am confused after reading comparisons of G12C vs. G12C/S vs. ET65. Thanks for reading!

Thank you, I have played the amp through a Scumback m75, which sounded great in itself but to me didn't result in a classic chimney sound. I understand the Scumback is a higher wattage Greenback style speaker. Is the ET65 different enough from that for classic blackface tone? Like a little Twin for home, something for surf/ R&b/ clean funk sounds. I already have rock covered with another amp
or do I actually want a 10" baffle and speaker to get what I am describing?

Actually, with what you just said ... yes, I'd go 10" baffle and a G10C. (NOT C/S)
