I recently purchased a Wampler Pinnacle pedal which does a good job replicating EVH's "brown sound". There's a Youtube video where the Wampler guys recommend replacing the stock Fender Hot Rod Deluxe speakers with WGS HM75's for dialing in this tone, so I'm considering this upgrade for my Deville which I think has the same stock speaker as the Deluxe, there are just 2 of them as opposed to one. Would you agree with this recommendation? Also, understanding this upgrade will definitely alter the sound of the amp, would the HM75s not be a good choice for a strat going into this amp clean (possibly tone getting too brittle)? I love the idea of complementing the Wampler pedal with better speakers and getting more of a British tone in the process, but I don't want to turn the amp into a one-trick pony. Please advise. Thanks!

Yes, the HM75 would make it a bit of a 1-trick pony.   Soooo .... I'm going to say go with our #1 all-around 2x12 combo: a ET65 and a Vet 30 ... or for a bit more top-end sparkle, make it a Ret 30.
