I have a 100w 76 Twin Reverb that I'm looking to put some new speakers in. I'm using this amp as a pedal platform and would like a bit more mid-range girth with less of the ice-pick of the stock speakers. However, I don't want to throw a blanket over the Fender cleans either.

After researching online, the consensus is that ET65s are the ticket for a silverface Twin Reverb, but I'm wondering if I should try pairing an ET65 with another speaker (Vet 30? Retro 30? G12c/s?) to get a wider spectrum or am I overthinking it and I should just throw in a pair of ET65s and call it day?

Yep ... that's what I was getting ready to say :-)

I just throw a pair of ET65 in my 1974 SF Twin (blackfaced)... and all I can say is WOW !

Exactly how Trevor described them to me when I asked for a perfect match with my Twin:

- tight lows

- open midrange

- sparkly highs

Looking to replace the blown original speakers in my 100w Silverface Twin and I play in bands that cover a wide variety of styles. Country, blues, pop, rock/hard rock. I also use a Les Paul and a Strat, so I'm looking for something that will cover all those bases. Thinking 2 ET65's or a ET65/Retro 30 combo?

FUCHS ODS series is essentially a Dumble, which is a Fender on steroids.

Comes standard with ET-65.

I'm looking for the thumbs-up emoji ... :-)
