Hey Vaughn. Enjoy your posts and videos.  Could you let me know your thoughts  on a speaker for my vintage Dean Markley CD60?  Looking for something very  articulate, well balanced with shimmering highs.  Thinking about an ET90 but  have looked at so many WGS I am now a bit confused.  THANKS

I remember those cool ol' amps well ... but haven't actually heard one in about 8-10 years ... so I'm going on memory here!

You say: "very  articulate, well balanced with shimmering highs"

Humm ... that sounds like our Retro 30.  The ET-90 is very "balanced" ... but when it comes to articulate, and shimmering highs ... that's the Retro 30!

Thanks Vaughn.  I will give the Retro 30 a try.  Just out of curiousity, what type of sound would the ET90 produce in this amp.

The ET90 would have more mid-range ... especially lower-mids ... it's a "full-bodied" girl :-)

Ended up putting in an ET-65 due to all the good things I heard on them from Vaughn in forums and shoot outs.  What a difference the ET-65 has made!  The amp has come alive.  What was once flat and dead is now defined, clear and balanced.  I couldnt' be happier and the speaker is no where close to being broken in!

Cool beans ... thanks so much for taking the time to post your results!  Yea, if we only made ONE speaker ... it would have to be the ET65 ... sometimes it's not the BEST choice, but it's NEVER a bad choice.  Open or closed back, muddy or bright amp. tube or ss, big or little cabinet ... the ET65 always sounds good.
