Hello -

I am building a rig around an Orange TH-30.  It will be going through two Emperor 1x12 cabs.  I play a mix of post-rock, heavy rock, and all types of metal.  I love the warm, huge sound of my Orange, but dislike the mid-spike of the V30s I currently have.

I already have one Retro 30 on the way for one cab, but I need some recommendations for the second.  I have seen some vids of the Retro 30 paired with an ET-65, but is there a better combination for the type of music I play?  I'm basically after a big, ballsy sound.  Thanks in advance!

Update on this:

I ended up returning the Retro 30.  Definitely had nice sparkle on the top end, but it had WAY too much low-end for me to handle.  While I totally see how it can be used to warm up an amp that's a little lacking on the low-end, it proved too have way too much bass for the Orange TH-30 (which is already a huge, warm amp to begin with).

So - that's been returned for the Vet 30.  I think the more narrow focus of the Vet will be a better match for the Orange.

So while that's on the way, I recently got my speaker for the second cab in the mail - a Reaper HP.  I had a feeling it was going to be a good speaker, but OH MY GOD is it a rager!  Such an aggressive, ferocious tone to it!  I absolutely love the Reaper - it is truly the Green Beret from hell, on steroids!  I cannot wait to hear it matched up with the Vet 30.  Should be a great match and a completely crushing combination!
