I'm running a Randall RM100 MTS Module amp..I have the 100 watt head loaded with KT88's for best tones at louder volumes..As of this time i'm usig a Marshall 1960 loaded with G12-65 Celestions..It sounds good but i'm switching to a 2x12 from a custom builder for the convience of a smaller cab..

What i'm needing is a speaker combination that will be versatile enough to work with all three modules.I mostly play dirty Blues through the Blackface module for clean tones and the Bassman (Tweed) for my breakup/overdriven tones..

In addition to this i use the Plexi channel for Robin Trowers and Hendrix tones..So you can see where i need maxium versatility..

The cab will be a slightly oversized 2x12 with a 3 pannel back for experiminting with best tone wither closed or open..

I really like the tone of the ET65 but i'm not certain what to pair it with..Please keep in mind i do play outdoor fairs and rallies and other events so the speakers must be able to handle the higher  wattage..

Is the ET65  a speaker you would suggest paired with a Retro or V30 maybe with the higher 55 watt Reaper or  the G12 or maybe just two ET65's..Of course i'm open to anything you may suggest so fire away...

By now ... you probably know what I'm gonna say ... ET65/Retro 30.  It's the ultimate in tonal flexibility in a 2x12.  When you load her up, post back here & let us know your results ... you'll like :)

With this speaker suggestion… say I was going to have a cab that was a 2x12 divided and one side was 1/4 to 1/3 open back and the other side was closed back.  Which speaker would you put where, and why?  Or… would it still be this speaker combo?

 

I'm building a custom 2x12 probably gonna be slightly over sized. Amps are Peavey 100w Windsor Head (jcm800 ish), Boogie Mk V 25 (25w head) and whatever else I have that I can plug into it.

Ok, so I pulled the trigger on an ET65/Ret30 16ohm yesterday. Gonna wire em up in parallel.  It's gonna be my do it all cab. Hope it is as badass as you say!  Can't wait for them to get here.
