Hello!

Just bought a Tubemeister 18 head and I would like to match it with a speaker that would give me a distorted tone in the range of Alice in Chains, Queens of the Stone Age.  I have read pairing that head with a Veteran 30 gives a great tone.  What do you think?

Thanks!

Yea, a Vet 30 would be good ... but if it were me, I'd go Reaper 30 ... which will make all of the 18-watts ... sound a bit louder & bigger ...

Hey Vaughn, thanks for the reply!

I know you wrote Reaper, but just to be sure, did you mean Reaper or Retro...?

Thanks!

Reaper

Thanks again for your reply!

I just want the best option for a creamy, articulate, punchy, overdriven tone, with tight bass, and moderate top end, like I said above in the range of Alice in Chains.  But I don't want to limit the amp because I would like to take advantage of the clean tones as well.

Still go with Reaper?

Thank you!

Still ... :-)

Just got the Reaper 2 days ago.  I had tried the H&K Head witht the stock Celestion I had with my cab (G12-p80) and it sounded ok.  When I installed the Reaper HOLY CRAP! Huge sound, great tone, mouth watering distortion.

Thanks for the advice, could not be happier! And it is not even broken in yet...

Also, great head that Tubemeister 18, just FYI.
