I am in the middle of a cab biuld and found out my design is no good. Check the link to see. (It is a company's design form England and I have to build because they don't ship to US. The picture is not accurate. They said not to make the 3 holes in the front and no tweeters for electric guitar: http://www.guitarampcab.com/thunder.html). Scroll down to the very bottom to see the actual one it is painted blue. If this is not the design you reccommend what is your rec? I was told a traditional style box shape but oversized and cover the walls and back of baffle with sound foam. I would really like your rec because I need to buy materials asap and cancel any hardware I don't need. BTW, I spoke with yall on the phone and already bought my speakers. Very helpful! I bought the et65 and vet 30 for my vertical 2x12 and the reaper hp for the 1x12.
I recomend you ignore England and put some ET65s in whatever you build.
As far as I'm concerned, the Marshall big-box 2x12 is the high-water mark in 2x12 cab design. My recommendation, just copy one! Oh, and I wouldn't really recommend any sound insulation in this infinite baffle (closed back) design.
My build plans have changed and the 2x12 I will be building is the Forte 3D cab design (http://www.fortemusical.com/3d2x12vertical.html)
Would you still not put any sound insulation in this design? Also, you can see two wood panels, one on each side. They look angled to maybe shape sound. Do you think these are necessary? Will the ET65 and Vet30 still sound great in this config? Also, someone told me that the reaper hp that was reccommended and I bought for my 1x12 is not a powerful enough speaker to handle my 50W Ceriatone OTS. I was told otherwise and that is why I purchased. Is this claim true? Thanks!
