Hi, I have 2 closed back 1x12 cabs being pushed by a Rocktron Velocity 150 using the preamp of a Digitech 2101. The Velocity is a SS power amp pushing 60 watts at 8ohm in stereo (which I want).
I play high gain metal but DO NOT like the ice-pick Celestion V30s, too brittle.
Would appreciate suggestions on speaker combo for the low thump of palm muting but mid definition also. I can control the highs with my 15 band EQ.
I just don't know what speakers would compliment eachother for getting the low end of one cab but some mids/highs in the other.
Since the SS amp is not tube, are the lower watt versions better for me at 60 watts? I am confused, thanks in advance, Rich.
Hi:
Based on trying out my Cousin's cabinets, the ET-65 is rounder and smoother, the Vet 30 retains much of the character of the Celestion but smoother and less ice-picky.
Now if I could only choose for myself...
Man, given what you are going for ... I think I'd suggest a pair of ET-90s ...
