Smokin' 59 Fullerton-White Custom Stratocaster® Set
This Vaughn Skow Original design honors Leo's top two men, George Fullerton and Forrest White! This is a totally hot-rodded version of the Historic '59 with customized internal visual appeal ... a Rockin' 50's RED bottom and vintage WHITE top fiber. Hey, it’s like when your sweetie is wearing red undies … it may be that nobody else will ever see the cool colors, but YOU'LL know ...
This set combines the strong AlNiCo V magnets of the historic 1959 Strat set with overwound 43 gauge wire for a tone that is unusually big, fat, and bold, yet retains the top-end chime and complexity we Strat Players relish. The tone can be described as 50% Strat, 20% Tele and 30% P90.
Custom specs include:
• 1959 spec RED bottom and WHITE top vulcanized fiber work
• 43ga red enamel copper magnet wire.
• Hand-wound by a master craftsman with a discrete scatter-pattern.
• Hand charged 0.187" Alnico V vintage staggered sand cast polepiece magnets.
• Vintage pickup height tension conical spring
• Vintage Nickel Pickup height adjustment screws
• Vintage cloth push-back pre-tinned wireleads
• Pickup covers - your choice of black, white or cream
• Available with or without Historic ageing treatment.
• Historic wax potting.
• Reverse-Wound/Reverse Polarity middle pickup for hum cancellation in combination positions 2 and four on modern 5-way Stratocaster pickup switches
Average Resistance & Induction at 70-degrees F:
• Bridge: 11.5 K/11 Henrys
• Middle: 8.6 K/6.1 Henrys
• Neck: 7.8 K/5.0 Henrys
NOTE: Please do not compare these specs directly to Strat pickups wound with the typical 42ga wire unless you fully understand the differences.
No, these are NOT “way hotter” than standard Strat pickups, as such a direct comparison would imply. They are about 10-20% hotter.
(IMPORTANT: Specs change with temperature and many other conditions/variables, especially RESISTANCE.
NEVER use resistance as a firm indicator of a pickups output, tone, or anything else!)
Please allow up to 48-hours for custom pickup production.
