Praise for the ET65

Just wanted to come and report my experience with the WGS ET65. I've used several in different amps and loved them in everything.

Years ago, I was in a heavy rock/alt-metal band and had a Sansamp PSA 1 playing through a 2x12 loaded with an ET65 and a HM75. That was a pretty cool combo, although I did find that I greatly preferred the ET65 to the other.

Since then, I've played some jazz and rock through the same 2x12 with two ET65s and a 1966 Fender Bassman. That's a pretty great combo, as well.

Most recently, I bought a Fender Blues Jr III tweed and found it to be boxy and really harsh on the top end when the volume came up. It was mostly tamable with EQ and the tone knob on my telecaster, but left a little to be desired. I swapped to an ET65 based on recommendations online and my experience with it. I was worried that since the ET65 is a British speaker, it might lose some of its Fender character, but it didn't.

Overall, the ET65 is just a solid choice for whatever you want to put it in. It really warms up the lows and gives them a nice chunk and smooths the highs without making amps too dark. Since my musical tastes have changed and I'm now playing alt-country kinda stuff, I think I'm going to be buying a Blues Deluxe, and I'll probably put another ET65 in it. They're really, really fantastic speakers and I can't recommend them enough.
