I think the amp is on the dark side, which I understand is not what Laney is known for. Anyway, I want a speaker that has a a lot of volume with a late breakup. I play clean 99% of the time. I have a couple speakers laying around that I've tried. Jensen Jet Electric Lightening, uninspiring to my ears, nothing wrong with it, but really kind of dull to me. I now have a Celestion G10 Vintage in place, it breaks up too early and sounds harsh when it does.

What do recommend that gives me a lot of volume and clean sound throughout the range with maybe a nice chime on top ? I may be asking too much for a tiny cab.

The amp is rated for a 8 or 16 ohm speaker, it came with a 16. Do you recommend going with an 8 for more volume or play it safe and buy a 16?

I checked the archives but I didn't find anything that I thought completely answers my questions.

Many thanks!

Okay ... "a lot of volume and clean sound throughout the range with maybe a nice chime on top ?"
EASY! The G10C (NOT smooth)
If you will probably never use an external cab, go with 8-ohm for the most volume ... otherwise, stick with the 16.
