I am about to build a 2 x 12" verticle slant-faced speaker cab (dimentions 30" tall x 20" wide x 14" deep at the bottom, 12" deep at the top, using Russian mult1-ply birch plywood. I have been trying to decide between a 1/2" and a 3/4" thick speaker baffle.
Can anyone help withnsome words of wisdom? There doesn't seem to be a definitive answer.
Thanks for your insight,

HI. I used 3/4" (18mm) ply in my 2X12 Cab with Reaper 30 speakers. But you can use 5/8"(15mm) as well. Thats what Marhsall and Mesa use in they cabs. I would not use 1/2" ply.
Yes, I also would feel a little uncomfortable using 1/2" in anything above a 1x12 ... but if you are sort of building this as 2 1x12 cabs ... with a solid brace in between the top & bottom half ... then you might be fine with 1/2" ... otherwise, I'd go 5/8 (or the metric equivalent).
BTW: thinner baffles sound more open & lively than thick ones ... but of course the thick ones are stronger!
