I've heard the veteran, but none of the others. I've plugged it into a single 10 inch cab with an Eminence Legend 1028k Alnico and it sounded great. Would the Veteran get me close or do I need to consider the alnico?

I don't think you need to go all the way to "Alnico" to find tonal utopia ... I'd say the Ceramic G10C should get you there. I'd recomend that over the Vet 10 with the lil VHT.
