Hi,

I have a Marshall SL-5 with a Vintage 30 Speaker. I like the overall sound except it doesn't sound very full at lower volumes. There is not enough bass for my taste (maybe because I'm used to a Blackface Princeton). Which speaker can give me a more bassier sound without changing the character? The mid hump of the vintage 30 is not absolutely necessary but I'm not after a scooped sound.

Thanks

Alex

Definitely go with a Green Beret.  I actually can't figure out why Marshall went with a Vint 30 over a Green Back in that amp!!  A Vint 30 needs to be driven fairly hard to sound good ... a GB opens up nicely at low volume/wattage.

I bet because that is what Slash uses Vintage 30's.
