Hello, I buy a new guitar cabinet 2x12.

it's have slanted baffle board and flexback options (transforme cabinet from closed back to half open back)

I play modern alternative rock / hard rock / blues / grunge '90  / drop tuning (like tool, muse, foo fighters, srv)

I use orange / diezel / mesa rectifier amps (el34/kt77 sound)

What combination of speaker may be fine for this use (top and bottom mounting)?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I've ask the same question to Dirk from TTC but with regard to a TTC 2x12 BA.

http://www.tube-town.net/ttstore/product_info.php/info/p1816_TTC-212-BA....

This is a smaller 2x12 cab with approx. 90 liter volume. Your TTC 2x12 British Vertical has approx 135 liter volume.

Dirk recommended a pair of Invaders. I'm currently thinking about putting a Reaper HP and an Invader into my cab. I saw that demo on youtube and I think both a great sounding speakers. What I would be interested in what would be a 'better' combination with regards to open or closed back and to more or less volume of the cab?

I'm using a Splawn Street Rod and  a Marshall JCM 410h with an 2x12 JCM 800 1936 Lead with Celestion G12-65

Thanks a lot and Greetings from Germany.

Ralf

First: In that big box with the convertible back ... you have lots of good choices ... but for maximum versatility, I'd go with my old fav the ET65 & Retro 30

Second: In the smaller box ... The two Invaders would be good, especially if it's closed-back ... if It's open go with one Invader & One ET65; the ReaperHP/Invader combo is very close to the same tone overall ... so that would also be a fine choice.

Hi Vaughn,

thank you very much for your help and support.

I've already ordered an ET65 & an Invader for my small cab.

Many thanks & greetings from Germay.

Thanks!

I have another question. Which speaker I put in a up position between Et65 and Retro30?

if I want to mic a mixing speaker cab how should I do? Which speaker I have to fit with a microphone?

If I choose for a single speaker model, which one should I keep between Et65 and Retro30?

Excuse me for my bad english. Thanks a lot.

I would but the ET65 on the bottom.  Which one you mic would be a matter of personal preference.

If you go with just one, make it the Retro 30!

What can you tell me instead of the veteran 30?
