Howdy there,
I am looking to replace the stock speakers in my Twin Reverb Re-Issue. I'd like to keep its classic clean sound through one speaker, but would like a little more breakup in the other for a broader spectrum of sound. I was leaning towards one "American Vintage" speaker and one from the "British Invasion" lineup. Is there a good pairing for this which offers even volume between the two? Thanks.

Well, I caved and ordered a G12C and a Liberator.... Merry Christmas!!! Will let y'all know how it sounds asap!
I've been under the weather and haven't been keeping up with this forum too well lately. I think you made a good choice. When we did some 2-12 demos with the new Liberator and Invader, we really liked the way the Liberator paired with other speakers ... no big surprise given that it's a direct descendent of the ET65! And, the G12 is a no-brainier ... nails the classic American tone!
Please post back here with your results ... hey, your amp may be a repro, but you'll have real-deal American designed and American hand-made speakers in her :)
The speakers aren't even broken in yet, but DAMN. This pairing gave the Twin a bit more JANGLE in addition to the all out TWANG it had before. It's a bit tighter and more bold all around. It's only going to get even better... but I swear it made my Twin a few pounds heavier! Other than than I'd say this is exactly what I was shooting for.
Good game, WGS.
