Looking for a single 50 watt or more speaker to best represent this British midrangey amp. One that can do cleans too if I decide to run a Mesa Exress 5.25 25 watt through it as well.

Was thinking Invader, but I can't make up my mind. Any suggestions would be helpful!!

Cheers!

Ok I have made a mistake and sinned against wgs! I went for a Jensen Electric Lightning and don't like it. It is like a buzzsaw in your face aggressive with too many crazy highs, way too modern and unforgiving. I now wonder if the ET-65 would match this amp? Or should I go Invader 50 watt?

Please help!!

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone...

Well ... the ET65 is a wonderful warm speaker with a lot of organic woodiness and an extra, extra, smooth top.  The only reason I would possibly argue aginst it is because, with the medium weight magnet ... it's not overly efficient.  Often folks with the 12-20 watt amps want a speaker that can take a few watts and make em into a lot of volume.  If that's not a concern for you, then ... yea, go for the ET-65!

Another really good choice would be a Reaper ... almost as warm and smooth as the ET65, but with a heavy magnet.  Go Reaper HP if you want to be able to use it with the bigger heads you mentioned.
