Vaughn,

Need some help on a speaker. Right now I have a single 12" Celestion G12H30 in my Marshall DSL 40 watt combo (the UK built one). It sounds good, but I need a little more clarity especially in clean tones which I do a lot of. I also cover some blues, classic rock rythym and leads using a PRS custom 24 SE (coil tapping and humbuckin).

I like the Reaper and the Retro 30. Thoughts? 

Another question is that my amp puts out 40 watts and rated for 16 ohms. If I snag a Reaper, what would the difference be in using the 30 watt versus the 50 in terms of wear / usage. Is it better to get a speaker that has a higher handling rating that my amps RMS? I know the 50 is not as bright..... I just want to make sure the speaker can handle it. 

Lastly, if I did an HP reaper, would the clarity of that still be more than that of say a Veteran 30?

Go for the Ret 30 ... the Reaper is nearly identical to your G12H30!
