Great speaker. It really gave a solution to my percieved issues of sharp treble and lack of definition in my cabinet. I worried about bass seeing how its described as bright, but thats not an issue. The bass was so deep and defined i was floored. Due to my tastes Im thinking of pairing it with a Veteran 30. Anyone have experience with this combination?? If so, what are your feelings?
Yea, the Retro 30 has a very nice tight bottom along with a very articulate and smooth top end. The Retro 30 get's so many love letters; we should start it's own fan site!
Hi there,
after a good reading of various Q&A on this forum, i learnt a lot and definitely will go for WGS speakers!!!
And i still have a question...
I'm planning to have a custom tube town cab, 2x12 horizontal, flex back (removable rear panel) to match my Mesa Boogie Quad Preamp (Mark IIC & III preamp circuits).
I play at home, bedroom level, Gibson Les Paul EMG pickups, mostly Zakk Wylde, stoner, and Metallica stuff, so i thought about the Veteran 30 for the warmth and mids, and Retro 30 for the clarity and agressive punch...
My first choice was Vet30/ET65, but i'm afraid to have too much bottom end since i have (very nice!) neighbours...
What would you recommend: Vet30/Retro30 ? Vet30/ET65 ? Something else ?
Thanks
PS: sorry Vaughn if you've received my mail twice but i thought i didn't work well... Btw, thank you for all your demos!!!
I'd say probably the Vet30/ET65 combo would be something you would most pleased with.
Thank you!
I'll go for it and come back with a review!
