I don't have one of these YET, but I've heard the stock Eminence alnico is not bad, but the bass is flubby and not the speaker is not as efficient as it could be. Others have said an Alnico Blue sounds great, but I don't want to go the Celestion route. What would be the best sounding speaker in this amp? Black & Blue Alnico, a Blackhawk Alnico, or a Green Beret/Reaper? Or what?

MY #1 for that amp would certainly be the Blackhawk AlNiCo (50-watt, not the HP model). That's the same speaker, but with a kapton former as opposed to the paper former on the black-n-Blue (or Celestio0n Blue). To me the Kapton ALWAYS sounds better ... and smokes a lot less often, too :-)
