Hey, first time poster and relative new person to the absurd but somewhat entertaining world of guitar speakers. So long story short: I'm going to be getting a vertical semi-open back 2x12 very soon and would like some classic american style 12" speakers which will be paired mainly with a Mesa Boogie Fillmore 25 head. Also will get occasional use with a Fender Supersonic 22 head.

I currently have a 2x12 with Celestion V30s which I think sounds pretty good with both amps, but the icepick/high end shrill/brightness is just too much especially when I've really got gain (through pedals or amp) going. I've done a fair amount of research and listening to clips, etc, so I think among the WGS offerings I'm torn between G12C and the G12C/S. Of these two, how do they compare, contrast, and what would be preferable in a vertical 2x12? Anyone have experience using them together?

I've read a lot of really good reviews of the C/S and kind of leaning towards that, but I'm all ears to anyone with experience with these or just in general with WGS guitar speakers. Thanks to anyone who can provide some info!

"classic american style 12" speakers"
EASY!!!
If you want it LOUD, go with a G12C and a G12C/S combo
If you want "vintage perfection" ... go with a pair of the G12Q's!
