Hey Y'all,

I have just gotten a Ceriatone OTS20 (80's mod) and a ET65. Which cabinet would be best, a larger 1x12 open back, or a 2x12 closed back used as a detuned 1X12? If anyone has any experience with either or both that would be great! I play blues with a cleaner sound not heavy overdrive.

Congrats on that amp. They sound awesome, and the ET65 is a great match for it. Interesting cab choice you recommend. I'd assume the open speaker mount in closed-back 2x12 would reduce bass response more than the open back 1x12". I'd be surprised if anyone can really say for sure. You could always board it up, or add another speaker if you want.

I have the OTS20 in a 1x12 combo and love it, sounds fantastic. I’m running the 50w Blackhawk in mine. Can’t go wrong with the 1x12 open back imo
