I am planning on replacing the speaker in my Traynor BLOC50G which I use for my big band gigs. The current speaker has a rather large dust cap and I know that large dust caps help temper the high end of an amp. My question is do you think they put that speaker in there to reduce the high end of the amp or would I be safe with a replacement speaker that has a normal size dust cap?
My intention is to use the g/cs 10" as a replacement. I currently have one in my HRDX and love it. It makes my Gretsch 6120 sound chewy.
