Greets:
I'm running a Boogie Tri-Axis and a 20/20 in stereo, have just obtained two 1X12 cabinets - presently closed back but vent-able backs. Ported.
Also have a small Blackstar with a PlexiTube in front which might push these occasionally.
Specifically intend to capture profiles of the amps for use in the Kemper Profiling Amp.
The goal is to live in "Classic Rock" but support excursions out into Blues, Progressive, Neo-Classical, Jazz and perhaps occasionally Fusion if my chops improve...
I like the Vet30, but think it might be just a little too "Marshally" - I'm calling that the default choice. The Reaper looks like it might be a good option, too. Since I'm looking for covering a lot of sonic ground using a highly versatile amp - I worry that a speaker with too much character might be limiting.
Thoughts? Recommendations?
Need to run 16 ohms to enable running all four cabinets (also have two other "plain jane" boxes presently dedicated to the Blackstar.)
Since the rig runs stereo - I want the cabs to match or at least pair well with ping-pong echo and stereo chorus bouncing between them.

Everything you say points to the new ET90 ... but the Reaper (not HP, not 55hz) would also be a good choice (if your not going to go with bigger amp(s) later.
Slight update...
I think I might retire the TriAxis and use these cabinets directly with the Kemper, through the 20/20 tube power amp.
Would that change your recommendation?
My cousin brought his cabinet over for a comparison test -
The Celestion Vintage 30 was darker and chunkier. The WGS Vet 30 was brighter and more articulate.
Together, it was pretty good - but of course this would be a poor selection for ping-pong echo and such - bright / dark / bright / dark...
Something in between these two might be good. Reaper, perhaps?

Well then...
Installed the ET-90's - they are pretty well balanced. So far I've tested them with the Kemper and the Boogie power amp - no complaints.
Need to try the TriAxis next, but I get the impression that these will do nicely. I like the fact these sound a little flatter in frequency response - I can dial in a midrange notch with the EQ if I need it, but if the speaker can't deliver in that range you can't easily use EQ to bring it back. By this I mean it will be much easier to make these sound like a Vintage 30 than it ever would be to make a Vintage 30 sound like an ET-90.
These are great speakers if you aren't trying to use the speaker as a part of the character of an amp - I mean, if you want to do '80's hair metal, you might prefer something else in your 4X12 box.
Using these cabinets while also running the little Blackstar amp through Kustom 1X12's was huge.
Thanks, Vaughn - good call!
