I want more crunch and more range than the G12 75s. You suggested the G12s/c pair on top and green berets on bottom for an VH1 cab. Can the clean speakers handle Blackstar drive without flubbing out?

Thanks!

Which speakers are the: G12s/c

I can not locate them in the products page.

I'm sure he means the smooth-cone G12 ... and for the VH1 stuff ... a G10A/S (Alnico smooth cone) is even better yet above the GBs!

I ended up getting a pair of Reapers (not GBs) and wonder if my Blackstar will flub out the G12 c/s pair. As you mention on the VH1 cab, there was a pair of JBL 120s on top. So the clean pair on top and the reapers on bottom? Don't want Jensen flubby mush at high gain.

Thanks!

They are prety beefy 75 watt speakers, so you should be ok ... but the combination of the fairly warm Reapers and warm smooth cones might just tame and warm the cab too much for you!
