Hello all,

I am looking to have a cabinet built from a FL cab maker called Aftershock. They are big fand of WGS so I am looking for some speaker recommendations.

I have traditionally been a Celestion guy (V30/12-75 in X pattern) but I am very interested in what I have heard from WGS as well.

I was thinking of going Veteran 30/Invader or Veteran 30/Liberator for a combo in my 4x12. The styles of music I play are pretty diverse I guess. I play anything from Hair Metal/Arena Rock to Pop Punk/Death Metal. I am going to be using a Titan Custom 100 watt head with KT88's. It is based off a Soldano SLO but tweaked quite a bit. I am a big fan of the 80's tones of Warren DiMartini, George Lynch with a bit more gain.

Thanks in advanced for any recommendations.

I'm glad you're looking at the Veteran 30 as opposed to the Vintage 30.  I had a Soldano SLO for a few years and ran it to two Vintage 30s.  IMO, it sounded really sharp and thin.  The Veteran's are much better in this area and, if I were you, I would combine them with an ET65.  The ET65's provide a tight bottom end that rounds out the Veteran's nicely, perfect for Mesa inspired rock/metal.

Go Retro 30 / Invader.  then post back here ... while you're still smiling like crazy :).
