Vaughn
Been looking at a new closed back extension cabinet and the place I’m getting it made, Voltage Cabs here in Canada, makes a couple of sizes. Now I like the large 2x12 with a variable back(http://www.steamcomusic.com/catalog/voltage-guitar-cabinets/voltage-vb-212) 22x30x12 but my always money conscious wife points out I could get the slightly smaller 2x12 http://www.steamcomusic.com/catalog/voltage-guitar-cabinets/voltage-s-212212d), 20x30x12 for $160.00 less - both loaded with WGS Green Berets. Now I look and see that their larger 1x12 (http://www.steamcomusic.com/catalog/voltage-guitar-cabinets/voltage-vb-112) 19.5x24x12 is the same price as the smaller 2x12. Hope you follow. Vaughn, if you were too choose between the smaller 2x12 or the larger 1x12, which would win - cabinet size or number of speakers.
This all came up having read your blog “My somewhat unconventional take on ideal speaker cabinet size”.
This is a follow up question from my original post http://wgs4.com/1982-3-deluxe-reverb-ii-2x12-closed-back-cabinet. My family had already found me a great gift - I’m now looking forward to Birthday/Christmas.
Thanks again
Michael
